3 Weeks Old! (plus 2 days)

Kaitlyn is now 3 weeks old!  It's amazing how fast time is going.  She is getting chubbier and her little forearms are beginning to have a sausage look to them.  Here are a bunch of pictures from this week.

Jeremy had Spring Break this week, so we took Kaitlyn on her first hike (3 miles, I was very proud of myself) and she did great in her front pack.  Sadly, we didn't take the camera with us.  Another first for her was going to church.  She also got her first real bath this week.  I thought she would hate it like the sponge baths, but she really liked sitting in the warm water.  Maybe she was too cold with the sponge baths.

Jeremy studied most of the week, but we took all of Friday and went to the San Diego Zoo.  We had a great time and Kaitlyn slept almost the whole time in the front pack.  The polar bears were my favorite and they came right up next to the glass to say hi to us.

Here I am with Kaitlyn and the Pandas.  She didn't really care.

This Koala was asleep while hugging her baby... maybe her baby kept her up too much at night...

Here we are taking the lift back to the front of the zoo at the end of the day.

Now for pictures of Kaitlyn.  I always find her sleeping in the funniest positions.  She loves having her hands out and sometimes sticks them straight up into the air for at least 5 minutes while she's asleep.

Kaitlyn loves sprawling out to sleep.

This was Kaitlyn's first time going to church.  She wasn't happy right then, but then fell asleep when we put her in the car seat.  She slept through all of church except when I fed her.  What a great baby!

More funny sleeping positions.

Kaitlyn has a lot of worried and concerned looks.  She's not so sure about something...

She's looking much bigger in her car seat now.

Here are a bunch of her funny faces.

Jeremy won't let me get any good pictures of the two of them.  This is why Kaitlyn looks so frustrated at him.

Sleeping during tummy time.

Haha, I caught her sucking her thumb for the first time that I've seen.

Two Weeks Old!

Jeremy's parents came to help out over the weekend and spent as much time holding Kaitlyn as possible.  They also replanted our garden which was something we never would have gotten around to.  It was so nice having them and they helped out so much.  Thanks!

There are a few things that Kaitlyn hates: Diaper changes, changing clothes, being hungry, sponge baths, and laying on the ground.  This is her showing how much she hates this.  We have to do this to her sometimes because she falls asleep while eating and this is the only thing that wakes her up consistently.  We are so mean.

Here are a few things that Kaitlyn loves: Mom and Dad, Her Mamma Roo (aka Space Pod) on the mode that mimics a car ride, her bouncy chair that vibrates (pictured below), going outside, riding in the truck, riding in her stroller, and being in the front pack.  Oh yeah, and her most favorite thing is eating.  This makes perfect sense considering who her mom is...

Every now and then, we catch Kaitlyn sleeping with her hands out or up while everything else is limp.

Yawning doesn't frustrate her anymore, but hiccups make her look very concerned.  I think she forgets every time she gets them because she seems like she's never hiccuped before.. every time.

After bath time and after she calmed down.

We go to her 2 week check up tomorrow and she is supposed to be back up to her birth weight.  I'm pretty sure she's well past 7 lbs 7 ounces (she got down to 7 lbs 0 ounces).  Her little belly has grown quite a bit.  Even her little doll lips are fatter now.

I think the flash scared her on this one.

Kaitlyn smiles a lot when she's done eating or going to sleep.  I haven't caught that many on camera though.

I can't believe that we've had Kaitlyn with us now for two weeks!  It's amazing that she is already changing and growing.  She is such a good baby, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect little angel.

Kaitlyn Hannah Gibb!

Kaitlyn Hannah Gibb was born on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10:26 in the morning in Los Angeles, California.
Kaitlyn was 3 days overdue, weighed 7 lbs 7 ounces, was 20 inches long, and her head circumference was 13 inches.

Kaitlyn is a little angel and we are so lucky and blessed to have her here with us!  Her birth went so well and she is a beautiful, healthy little baby.

Here is her first picture, being weighed and getting the first diaper of many to come.

Ronald Reagan Hospital at UCLA was a great place to deliver.

Get ready for lots of pictures.  I may be putting these up late (sorry), but I had too many favorites to narrow it down more.  I just want to show Kaitlyn off because she's so cute!

Our first family picture right before we left the hospital.

These next 4 pictures are Kaitlyn's yawning process.  She starts small, gets bigger and bigger until she can't open her mouth any wider.  Then she gets frustrated because she can't yawn any bigger.  Hence, the angry face. The great thing is that the angry scream lasts about as long as her yawn and then she's happy again.

Happy and content.

This is one of my absolute favorite pictures of Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn is doomed to watch basketball with dad every year for her whole birth month...March Madness starts young.

My mom came to help out for the first few days at home.  Thanks so much Mom, you helped make the transition so easy!

She looks way too small in her car seat.   She doesn't love the process of getting strapped in, but she loves the car or stroller or anything that moves and bumps.

Sleeping with Dad.

I finally managed to catch Kaitlyn smiling on camera.  The next 3 pictures are one smile getting bigger and bigger!  I love her so much!

Sleeping is what she does best.. besides eating of course, but that goes without saying, seeing as she is my daughter.

We love having Kaitlyn here with us finally!  She is such an angel and a sweet little princess.  I always got so embarrassed when my dad would call me his princess, but now I understand that he really thought that and he wasn't just trying to make me uncomfortable.  We love listening to all of Kaitlyn's squeaks and squeals and watching her cute little lips and long blond eyelashes.  I could go on forever about her, but I'll try to stop since it always bugged me when other people couldn't talk about anything else.  I guess I never understood till now how much love you can have for such a small baby.
We love you Kaitlyn!
