8 Weeks Old

Here is a blog post from 2 1/2 weeks ago that I forgot to publish.  I'll try to get caught up eventually, but in the meantime, here are more pictures of Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn is babbling more and more and loves talking back and forth.  My favorite is when she does her quiet, petite little noise while scrunching her shoulders up.  It is the cutest thing ever!

It was my 25th birthday and I got a Bumbo (the pink thing Kaitlyn is sitting in.)  Its so fun to see her sitting up by herself.  She loves it, but gets tired after a while holding her neck up so long.

She loved being in the kitchen.  So far this is only when I take her in for something quick.  Otherwise, this is a new viewpoint for Kaitlyn.

I had to get a picture of the back of her head.  So cute!

This was my other present.  It is as big as our apartment.  Now we can all go camping together.  We only had a small 2 man backpacking tent so now we have tons more room.

Jeremy brought me home these beautiful tulips for my birthday.  This picture is not doctored, its really how bright they are.

My stake (the Los Angeles Stake) is celebrating its 80th or 90th year anniversary (I can't remember which) so the Relief Society is making a quilt to commemorate it.  This is my contribution.

Hiking Mommy Group

I have started a hiking group with some friends and we try to go every Wednesday.  This week was the third time we have gone and it is so fun getting a little out of LA and into the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains.  Everyone always comments about us and our babies, but we have a great time!

A lot of people in LA are not used to babies, but one lady took the cake.  She stopped us and asked the ages of our babies and when I said 6 weeks, she asked, "Is she old enough to open her eyes yet?"  (Kaitlyn was asleep.)  I didn't know that a woman in her 40s could live that long without knowing that babies are born with that capability... maybe she has too many kittens.

This first picture is actually Kaitlyn's first hike at 2 weeks and 2 days old.  It was very short, Jeremy biked and I went to the end of the trail and walked up until we met.

This was the first mom hike.  It was so much fun that we are doing every week now.  This trail was one Jeremy and I found on accident two weeks before and was Kaitlyn's first legitimate hike at 3 weeks.  This picture is at 5 weeks.

This was taken at 6 weeks.  It was only 2 (well 4) of us and nobody was at the top to take a picture of us together.  I love his sunglasses.

This hike is beautiful with ivy covering everything in the little valleys.

Some moms decided that it was time to upgrade to backpacks instead of front packs this week.

This is Kaitlyn at 8 weeks.  She sleeps almost every time she is in the front pack.

Three out of four babies asleep.

Kaitlyn's 7th week of Life

Here are a bunch more pictures from 7 weeks.  Kaitlyn has started talking although we have yet to figure out what she is saying.  It's the cutest thing though, she loves making noises on purpose and is so proud of herself.  Then she thinks its really great when we copy her and she will say something back and forth to keep the conversation going.  So cute!  I'll try to get it on video.

Mid-sneeze

She's getting chunky, but loves sitting up "by herself."

Kaitlyn is such a happy baby!  I don't know how we got so lucky, but she is practically perfect in every way!

Kaitlyn is a great sleeper.  She is getting up once a night to eat usually and is going 6 or 7 hours most nights without eating.  The best part is that once she eats, she goes back to sleep instantly and so do I.

Sleeping with Dad during a study break.

Kaitlyn loves these hanging toys.  She will stare and smile at them for a long time.  The lion in the middle plays songs when you pull it and she has pulled it twice that I know of.  On accident of course.

This is Kaitlyn waking up..arching her back as much as possible.

Such a dainty sleeper.

Her outfit for church this week.

Kaitlyn loves helping me with laundry, but I usually get distracted and take pictures instead of folding the clothes (hence the hamper in the background.)
