July 2014

July was a crazy and busy month for us.  We moved out of our Stanford apartment and moved to Mountain View.  Jeremy also studied like crazy and took the Bar Exam.  We are sure he did well, but we will find out by the end of November if he passed.  We were both happy to have it over with (I'm sure Jeremy's feelings are even stronger than mine with this).

It was hard to leave a place with so many wonderful memories.  It will always be a time we look back on with joy.  Here are a few pictures of our 700 square feet of apartment before I packed it up. Our Mountain View apartment is 900 square feet so it feels huge!  Just some facts I want to remember: We payed a subsidized $1860/month at Stanford and $2450/month in Mountain View, and its a smokin deal.

The outside of our apartment was what we really fell in love with.

We went to Shoreline Lake to watch fireworks.  Kaitlyn loved it, especially the birds and boats watching the fireworks with us.

Waiting for it to get dark needed lots of snacks.

Here are our last moments in our apartment.  It's amazing how much your home turns into any old apartment when you take all your stuff out.

Here's a hike I went on with Kara Galbraith and her kids.  Kaitlyn still tells me that the water drips down and makes holes in rocks.

Trying on coats in the heat of the summer.

She was so proud of herself.

It's dark, but this is a picture of the last hurrah for these 4 boys.  It was funny and sad to watch them all try to soak up these last few minutes before they would possibly never see each other again.

Jumping.

The color wall at Stanford is mesmerizing.

My friend Amanda Grossman brought out packages of very very old seeds and let Kaitlyn and her kids play with them in the sandbox.  She was sure they wouldn't grow because they were so old and because we were in a sandbox.  She moved out and I noticed this lettuce growing.  Anything grows here.

Playing with Issac Edwards our next-door neighbor.

Bounce houses were a great perk of living in our courtyard.  It seemed like people had parties every few weeks with these.   Kaitlyn was still pretty nervous and needed to hold our hands to go in.
