August 2014: The Start of Our Long Summer Vacation!

The Bar Exam was the last week in July and the first week of August was a backpacking trip with Jeremy's cousins and uncles.

Before Jeremy left, we had a great day on the canoe boat with Kaitlyn.  It's one of her very favorite things to do.

Eating donuts to celebrate the Bar being over.  Kaitlyn just wanted the frosting.

Kaitlyn lovers her little friends.  Here is Lincoln Dorff holding her hand on the way to nursery.

Kaitlyn loves having her nails painted.  During dinner, she was eating her carrots and ranch and the next thing we new, she was painting her nails.  She was so proud of herself and did a pretty good job too.

Jeremy's backpacking trip was 50 miles in the Bighorn Crags near Salmon, ID.  Every picture was beautiful and I had a hard time narrowing it down to 11.  They had a great time and Jeremy got to unwind after the stress of the Bar Exam.

The water was so clear in all of these lakes.  They caught one fish and swam in at least one of the lakes.  Freezing!

This looks so much like Yosemite to me.

While Jeremy was gone, we stayed busy and had lots of play dates.  We also got rid of our termites.  That was nice.

When Jeremy got back, we did even more fun things.  Kaitlyn was so happy to have Daddy around full time!  These pictures are at the SF Zoo playground.

I love these two jumping pictures.  She is getting so brave!

This one hurts me to look at, but she was fine.

The carousel is always one of her favorite things to do.

We took Kaitlyn to see her first movie in the movie theater (besides when we took her in with us as a sleeping baby).  We saw Planes 2 and she LOVED it!  She was a little confused that it wasn't the first Planes movie, but once she realized it was different she was in heaven.  It didn't stop her from asking to see the other Planes when the movie was over...  These pictures are right after the movie at the water feature at the theater.

There is a kite park right next to the bay.  We bought a kite (she wanted a Cinderella kite and luckily they had one) and went to fly it.  We love seeing her sense of wonder and excitement!

Jeremy had great roommates at BYU and luckily we get to see them every now and then.  Here are 3 of them and our families.  Tristan's parents are Mission Presidents in Santa Rosa, so we drove up to see them when they were visiting from Georgia.  Solomon was interning in Palo Alto for the summer so we got to see him twice as well.  We wish we could all live closer, but we are all over the country.
