June was such a wonderful month full of fun fun fun! Here we are at the duckpond. Kaitlyn is finally tall enough to reach the ground on her balance bike.
Kaitlyn thinks Jeremy rides his bike all day every day with his backpack on. He leaves in the morning and comes back on his bike, so why would he do anything in between? She wants to be just like daddy!
There was the big Escondido Village yardsale where all the students put out their stuff to sell. We made it to a few courtyards, but Kaitlyn found this purse, baby, and headband and could not let them out of her sight. We also got her a tricycle which she thinks she needs the purse, baby, and headband to ride with.
Kaitlyn hates hats or anything on her head. Then she found this hat at the playground. It was there for more than a week until it's owner came back for it. I think Kaitlyn thought it was hers.
Dancing to Frozen music doesn't get any better than this! Anyssa, Taylan and Cormac came over to play and we had a great time. They are such awesome kids and Kaitlyn loves them so much!
Kaitlyn was the only one still dancing at this point. She gets a little dramatic.
We had a farewell dinner with some of our friends who were also graduating. Ishmael and Catalina Dussaillant, us, and Steve and Amanda Grossman. Their kids were playing elsewhere but we had a lot of fun. We are going to miss you guys so much!
Our parents all came to see Jeremy graduate. It was so much fun to have everyone here to celebrate with us. Here we are looking energetic before we had sat for too long. Most the speakers did a great job, but some went on and on for far to long. I think I saw Mark and Ron asleep several different times, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the speakers. ;) It also got a little hot, so we moved the chairs to the shade near the end. I felt bad for the grads in those hot long robes.

When Jeremy left the house in the morning, Kaitlyn said he was wearing dancing clothes. Then when she saw him after the graduation ceremony, she was pretty scared of him. She finally smiled in these pictures, but would not let him hold her with those dancing clothes on.
Stanford Law Graduate! June 14, 2014
Our parents took Kaitlyn home and had lunch there while we went to the reception. It was nice, but still hot. Ron had to fly back home to the farm, but the rest of us went to dinner at Bennihana's. It was a great place to celebrate and Kaitlyn liked watching the cook and Lightning McQueen.
Commencement was Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Stanford stadium. The "wacky walk" was pretty entertaining and my favorite costumes were the 2 X-wings chasing each other around. All the undergrads make costumes to wear over their cap and gown and it looks like they all spent a lot of time on them.
Bill and Melinda Gates spoke at Commencement about philanthropy and it was very good. Can you spot Jeremy?
On Monday morning, Susan flew out early and my parents drove us to Carmel for a little vacation. We stopped at a fruit stand and loaded up on some very unique snacks as well as lots of yummy fruit. It was delicious! Then we drove on the 17-mile drive and did a hike through the trees. We also stopped at this beach and the sand was incredibly fine and didn't stick to you. We ate a late lunch at Dametra Cafe which was a wonderful place to eat. It was a great atmosphere with live music every hour and of course the food was amazing. It was good enough that we ate their twice on our little trip. They also called Kaitlyn a princess, so who could say no?
While waiting to eat at Dametra Cafe, we walked around the shops and found a little kids boutique. Kaitlyn ran inside and immediately sat down to try on shoes. She loved them all and when she tried on the purple sparkly shoes, she started twirling and dancing and tip-toeing around. She was so Excited! My parents had to buy them because those shoes made Kaitlyn so incredibly happy and joyful. I wish shopping could bring me that kind of joy. The only drawback was that the shoes are perfumed and it was pretty strong when we were couped up in the car together.
On Tuedsay, we dropped the boys off at a golf course, and went to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. Kaitlyn was loving it until we were looking at an octopus that wasn't moving. She was getting close when suddenly it gulped in water and got huge. It scared Kaitlyn so bad that she was crying for quite a while. These squids were really mesmerizing with changing colors all the time. Kaitlyn recovered and loved watching the giant tank full of fish including sharks and turtles.
We stayed at Carmel Valley Ranch and Kaitlyn loved the swings hanging from the trees. You can see her new purple shoes here.
Roasting marshmallows was awesome, but it was even better that all the s'mores stuff was sitting at such a nice height for Kaitlyn to take as many marshmallows as she wanted.

On our way home, we made a detour to go by the Laguna Seca Raceway. There were cars racing by and we watched at this corkscrew turn and saw one car almost lose it. Pretty intense!
Here are some random pics of the rest of the month. Kaitlyn and I loved playing with the homemade moon sand (flour mixed with baby oil).
Jeremy and I celebrated our 5 1/2 year anniversary (it's too hard to celebrate it 2 days after Christmas). We stayed home, but tried something new and grilled clams and mussels. We liked the mussels better but both were delicious. We also had cheesecake from the cheesecake factory for desert. Yummy!
Kaitlyn likes to sleep and read in our bed while I'm getting ready for the day. She needs all her blankets piled on no matter how warm it is.
Kaitlyn started playing with a stick and saying boppy boo! (bippity boppity boo from Cinderella). So I had to make her a real wand and she loves it.
We grew our own pineapple that stopped getting bigger and started turning yellow. We decided it was probably getting ripe even though it was so small. Wow, it was soooo good, but we only had a taste because it was so small. It's too bad it didn't get to full size.
