The Many Faces of Kaitlyn
We've been busy moving up to Palo Alto for the past little while, so this is a quick update of Kaitlyn.

First time turning pages
Last night was the first time Kaitlyn has turned pages by herself. She
has been reaching for her books, but this time she developed a whole new
skill. She had turned 3 or 4 pages before we started the video.

The 4th of July
For the 4th of July, we went to Culver City High School to watch fireworks with a bunch of friends from our ward. Kaitlyn loved the fireworks at first, then got overwhelmed and started screaming... We tried a few things to calm her down, but then the noise-cancelling headphones fell off and she was happy as can be. She wanted to see and hear the fireworks. Aren't we silly for not knowing that?
Kaitlyn loves waking up in the morning. She is so happy and kicks her legs and yells to herself. She also tries to grab and then eat her toys. Sometimes the first noise we hear in the morning is the little rattle inside the duck that she's reaching for.
A hike to Escondido Falls with the Ellsworth family on the 4th of July.
This was a fun trip the weekend after the 4th of July. We drove about 2 hours north to Santa Barbara and went hiking, drove around the mansions and to the beach. It is a beautiful town and was a lot of fun until Kaitlyn had a major break down on the drive home. We weren't planning to stop and eat, but she was not having any more time in her car seat, so we made an exception. Then she had fun entertaining everyone around us at the 50's diner.

Kaitlyn in June
Here is my picture dump for Kaitlyn in June (3 months old).
During June, Kaitlyn got stronger and stronger with her neck. She learned how to roll over from her back to her stomach. She started getting more accurate reaching at her toys. She figured out how to use the rattle consistently with either hand. She drools tons and tries to stuff her hands all the way into her mouth constantly.
She also said her first word. We were eating breakfast one Sunday and telling Kaitlyn how cute she was. We said something like, "Aren't you the cutest?" Then she answered in a soft, high pitched little voice, "yeah." It stopped both of us in our tracks because she had perfect timing and pronunciation. Too bad she hasn't said it again...
Asleep with her binky just in the perfect place, also with her arms out of the swaddle. She's always been an escape artist.
She's so proud of herself. Standing was new this month, but its her favorite thing to do now.
This is such a fun way to wake up in the morning. I'm glad she wakes up happy most days.
Kaitlyn loves getting her diaper changed. It makes it much more enjoyable for us too.
I couldn't resist putting her in her blessing dress for church again. Its just so cute!
Playing pat-a-cake with dad.
Brent and Christa Sheffield (and daughters) came to California so I crashed their vacation for a day and had so much fun seeing them again. Sadly, this was my only picture from the day.
She's so much better at tummy time now, she will actually smile during it ;)
"My book, not yours..."
She's already reading, she will be a very studious little girl...

Fun Stuff from June
Mormon Dodger Night
June 29, 2012
We were the only ones from our ward who actually got there in time to see the opening pitch by President Uchtdorf. It was awesome and the whole stadium cheered. Kaitlyn loved watching the game and all the people. We were sitting by the main speakers which were way too loud for Kaitlyn, but she got a lot happier when they started the game and didn't play so much music.
After the game, they had a fireworks show and let everyone out onto the field. It was awesome and the grass was literally perfect. It was like nice soft carpet. Kaitlyn loved the fireworks at first but got a little overstimulated by the end with the loud music again.
We made a one night trip to St. George to play with our friends from Las Vegas, the Noel's. Kaitlyn loved their little boy, Preston. Preston is quite the dancer and thought Kaitlyn was dancing whenever she was wobbly while standing up and he would dance with her. So cute.
Jeremy hiked the Narrows at Zions. What a beautiful place.
Brad and Cait Turner from our ward here in LA invited us to go hiking with them. It was so much fun climbing up Sandstone Peak with them. Kaitlyn didn't want to be in the sun...
